I’ve been drinking a mix of red wine vinegar, turmeric, fenugreek, Splenda and a little water either before or after each meal for the last few days. Apparently the vinegar helps regulate blood sugar, and may help in weight loss.

I had noted online that it was suggested to not mix turmeric & fenugreek because they might cause problems with blood clotting. I take this to mean that your blood won’t clot as readily as normal.
I’m not sure if the extra blood on this bandage was caused by the drink or some other cause, but normally I may have just a drop of blood after having blood work, and nothing like what is shown here. The technician didn’t hurt me, and I even joked to her that she didn’t “fail,” which was a reference to a reminder, written in large letters on a whiteboard in their office about learning from failures.
I did forget to “not eat after midnight” on Tuesday, which was when I had planned to get my blood work done, so I made a note and went in on Wednesday morning. I like to go in for blood work a week before my next scheduled doctor’s visit.
I did forget to drink a lot of water the night before. Apparently, being hydrated helps the nurse/technician “find your vein.” *A few years ago, I went in for blood work, and the nurse couldn’t find my vein, on either arm. I think after she “poked” me the third time, she suggested I go home and drink a bunch of water before returning the next day. I did, and had no problem during my next visit. Fortunately, this tech had no problem. The actual drawing of blood seems to go by much faster the last couple of visits. I’m not sure if they are taking less blood than they once did, or if my mind is shortening the process.

I drove up to Lillington yesterday. Just a quick trip up & back. I went to the Library first and bought four books at their perpetual book sale. I think I left $6 total, a dollar each for three books, and $2 for one, and a dollar as an extra donation.
[NOTE 03/19/25]: Just a note on the books shown above. I gave the Kindergartner book to Jeremy, at Pharaoh’s Legacy. His wife is having a baby in September, and I appreciated his fatherly enthusiasm. I gave the Viking book & I think the Spices books to Ray & Jacquelin, and I think I just gave the Comfort Food book to Mary Ann yesterday. [end NOTE]

I then drove back across the river and “whipped into” the ABC Store. I bought an Aristocrat “Peach Schnapps,” and a “Triple Sec,” which I don’t ever recall trying before. I googled for “Triple Sec,” and was told that it had an orange flavor. *I tried the Triple Sec at home later and it does have the sickeningly sweet flavor that I like.
I drove by the “antiques” shop that I like to visit in Lillington, but it was closed. It’s actually not antiques, but high end “junk.”

Still not sure which route is fastest between Fayetteville and Lillington. As you can see above, there is an alternate route that is 1.2 miles shorter, but takes about the same time to drive. It’s that alternate route that I’ve been driving since they made the roundabout on 401. There are two Stop signs on the alternate route, but other than that, it is a straighter route than 401 and you bypass slowing down through Bunnlevel.
NC DOT: They brine at 40 gallons per mile.
