The President want Senator Clark to
go looking for the hidden base.
The Senator strikes up a
conversation, with a floozie, in a desert bar.
She’s talkative and wonders
where the pilots are.
The pilots, flying the planes into
the hidden base.
Driving deeper into the
desert looking for the hidden base.
Not far off the road, a helicopter
lands and a soldier confronts the Senator.
Colonel Broderick is in on the plan,
and is supplying the Senator with plenty of booze.
Broderick pours another temptation
for the Senator, leaving him locked in.
Clark reads the fatal headline, and decides
to give up drinking for the time.
Colonel “Mutt” Henderson finds
the Senator being held against his will.
The Government is sitting right on top of the Washington Monument, the very point.
The Senator convinces the Colonel to help him escape this confinement.
They confiscate a Sand Cat and
make their escape to the airport.
I need to call the White House.
Do you have a dime?
A short call to the White House.
Mutt’s gone! But where?
The President verifies that Colonel Henderson is being held incommunicado and tells the Senator.

The President wants the Senator to go find the hidden base.
